Famous people from the UK

Queen Elizabeth II was born in 1926. She started ruling the country in 1952 and was crowned in 1953. In 1947 she married a distant cousin, Prince Phillip of Greece.

Agatha Christie wrote a lot of murder mystery books, with different detectives in the books like, Poriot and Miss Marple. She was born in Torquay and had a holiday home in Dartmouth. She has now died and her holiday has been taken over by National Trust.

Harry Redknapp: Harry Redknapp is one of the best English football managers ever, he started his football career as a player and is now one of the best managers ever. He has managed the likes of Portsmouth FC and is the current manager of Tottenham Hotspur FC.

Gordon Ramsey: Gordon Ramsey is the best chef in Britain, he owns lots of restaurants. He is famous for being a rude and aggressive chef, he speaks his mind! He’s very entertaining.

Ant and Dec: Ant and Dec are one of the funniest duos in the whole of Britain, they have their own show (Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway) in addition to presenting I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!

Lech Kaczyński

Lech Aleksander Kaczyński was a President of Poland from 2005. He was one of the major politicians of Law and Justice (PIS). He had a twin brother Jarosław Kaczyński, former Prime Minister of Poland and current Chairman of the Law and Justice part.
On 10 April he and his wife Maria died in a plane crash while attempting to land on the Smoleńsk airport. There were 88 people on the board and nobady survived.
The plane was carring Polish government officials to Russia to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Katyń masaccre.
